Since the weather was so nice, David grilled out hamburgers and hotdogs for us. After lunch, came the presents :) Gift cards to Kohl's and Target, and some super cool running socks..."For the warrior in all of us". Pretty sweet haul if you ask me!
Then came the cake.... Now, this might take some explaining! Mom has saved all of the little plastic figurines that have ever come on any of our childhood cakes, and she keeps them in a bucket. So, whenever someone has a birthday, the bucket comes out and the decorating commences. We've come up with some pretty fantastic designs over the past year. The cake they did for me ranks right up there. Notice how the candles are place around the outer edge of the cake, sticking out, rather than standing straight up!
One of the flames got a little out of control (as pointed out by my sister)!
Once we were hopped up on sugar, the "kids" (Cliff, myself, and my sister and brother-in-law) all went outside to play some frisbee. Here are Cliff and my brother-in-law, Shannon, enjoying play-time :)
All in all a great birthday! I'm glad my Aunt Bita (from Santa Fe, NM) was here to share it with me as well!
